The public is given the chance to try and test this new Chrome through the developer preview version of Google Chrome 2.0.180.0, which was released several days ago. According to Google programmer Aaron Boodman in a mailing post, the extensions that come with this chrome are going to be useful. For instance, it would now be possible to put bits of user interface in Chromes's chrome, and the application programming interfaces are also starting to come together. Boodman admitted that "there is still quite a ways to go," and added that "but if you're interested in building extensions for Chrome, this might be a good time to start taking a look."
Extensions are factors that give Mozilla's Firefox advantages over other browsers. Because of this, Google also updated its "extensions how to page." Aside from this, Google provides sample chrome extensions as well. The newer chrome also allows pop-ups from some websites. It is built on top of WebKit which will make users take advantage of the CSS3 features. It also has V8, which is a new and faster JavaScript interpreter. The newer chrome upgrades to the latest version of two major components, and fixes some bugs.
Future plans for Chrome
Developers of Chrome also plans to develop support for several HTML 5 features in this new version. However, the plan would push through to the 3.0. version only. Well, this means having to wait a longer while, since the 2.0. version is not yet even released. It would really be a big treat for web surfers if the HTML 5 features are included in the soon-to-come Chrome version. One of the interesting features is a video support that allows the easy embedding of videos on web pages. There is also the local storage for saving information on a computer. Last but not the least feature is the web workers. This feature enables the web applications to get to work without blogging down the user interface.
It seems that there is still a long way to go before Google can make its Chrome really advanced since it still can't have the HTML advanced features on its new version.
