I believe hiring others or buy gold is a waste of money. But that is my personal opinion, I know many many many players do this especially buying world of warcraft currency to buy themself better in-game items and weapons.
If you want to level a fun character I would suggest, rogue, paladin or priest. The only point is that the rogue is less versatile. Paladin have both healing and tanking abilities and the priest can heal apart from being a dps character.
