Default Do not start your new pc with a cpu without cooling paste

I think this reminder never gets outdated, when you have your new pc - ready built or after building do not start your pc with a CPU without cooling paste.

It takes 10-20 seconds with a high performance CPU to get permanently damaged without applying cooling paste before starting.

cooling paste, yes it is an important and essential for a new cpu,but i dont think that if it does not applied to the cpu then the cpu may get damaged because i did this mistake two times but there is not affect on my pc.

Cooling paste is not required in ordinary conditions. If the room temperature is aorund 25degree celcius.
Its only required if you are going at 40+ degree celcius.
And also newer CPU and fans have reduced the need of such pastes.

I agree with my friend, am from india, and I have never did this before, though i bought new pc's 3-4 times. It is not necessary here. It is required in the area where it is high temperature. So we are not at all doing this..

I'd never start up a computer with paste. They make a lot of heatsinks with paste on them already now too, for people who are too lazy to apply their own.

I sure hope you are at least using the preapplied pads...

Cooling paste comes standard with the stock coolers, and do fine if you aren't overclocking.

Yeah. Great tip for anyone building a computer. If you are new to it make sure you have some thermal paste on hand. Dont skimp on it either, get a good quality one so that your computer performs better and lasts longer. They are only a few dollars for a good quality one, nothing compared to the cost of your processor and mobo.

    Wink

I too have made the mistake of not applying cooling paste when getting my computer, although it didn't permanently damage my comp it did slow it down a lot and froze all the time to the point where I could only run one program at a time(not worth it)...

So I checked inside my computer again and finally noticed no cooling paste...
I added it and now my computer works great as it should so it is good to have and use cooling paste when needed
