You will notice the programs will work a bit faster but you will not experience amazing results. But if I had your computer I would buy 1 gb ram no doubt about it.

May I ask what operating system you are using ?

Think of your processor as the item that sets the maximum speed and the RAM as the current speed/acceleration. Sure, adding RAM will up your speed a bit. But both increasing RAM and switching to a fast and powerful processor is what gets you what you want.

Yes it will speed up from 256 to 1G og memory. You'll experience faster startup time, loading of applications and less chance for your computer to hang. But ofcourse processing task like file conversion, burning and playing games will not be affected with the increase because it will depend on your processor.

Question think virtually

just think at the rate your PC works at 256 mb. if you upgrade to a 1gb RAM the system becomes 4x times faster.

Sure if you are doing so than I support that the speed increases. As it provides more fre temporary space it will make your CPU fast butif you have old version of CPU. Ican't say about it.

Post Upgrading Ram.

Hi, So great that you are planning to change your ram from 256 mb to 1gb.
So it increases your computer speed but if you upgrade your motherboard or your motherboard processor it will give you a great speed amount of speed. So I think you are using windows 98 or windows xp because you have 256mb ram. So let me know which operating system you are using????

Look forward for your reply.

Bye........see you soon..........
