Default Difference between SAS and SCSI disks

Was just wondering the differencies between SAS and SCSI disks. They are both at 15K RPM and needs a special interface card to connect them to the computer system unlike IDE and SATA disks.

From what I know SCSI disks are the popular ones between these disk systems, but what sort of people purchases a SAS disk instead of SCSI ?

I noticed a SAS disk especially made for MAC PRO users, is that the difference ?

Appreciates some help in this from our members and visitors.
