You might as well buy another CDrom drive because it might be damaged inside. Cleaning the drive might give you another problem after several weeks or a month. I hope its fine afterwards. Goodluck

hello friend i think your cd is not detecting because may be your lens is not working properly power is coming and cd is not detecting means any problem to lens or any internal chip or bus problem so please give any specialist to check and fix that problems.

Inserting other cd's can also show you if there's a problem with that cd alone.

Most likely the reading device in it has broken. Same thing happened to my dad's laptop.
Really hard to fix as you have to take apart the whole thing...just buy a new one.

STEP 2: Click Hardware then click Device Manager.
